IMPORTANT NEWS ABOUT THE FUTURE OF THE LOST TRADES
Statement from Tamsin
It’s with a heavy heart I announce my departure from The Lost Trades at the end of 2024.
It’s been an absolute pleasure and a huge privilege to play so many beautiful shows over the last five years, with my musical brothers by my side. What an adventure it’s been!
My heart, however, has been calling out for a different creative passion for a while now. Most of you will know my love of woodworking, and I am craving to dive deeper into this wonderful art, and put all my creative energy into my business, Quin Woodcraft. My enthusiasm for music has been somewhat lacking over the last year or so. I am struggling to find any excitement or love for it currently. As much as I LOVE the live shows and meeting you wonderful lot, touring is draining me and I’ve lost all desire to express myself through music. I guess things change, and I find myself expressing creatively through making things with my hands, in the quietness of the woods, rather than writing and performing.
I will always continue to write, that’s part of my soul, and I will most likely share this with you, whether in the form of videos or the odd solo show here and there. Who knows, maybe I’ll find that musical spark again one day!
I want to say a huge thank you to Jamie and Phil. Two of the kindest, most thoughtful, and incredibly talented people to work with, and most of all; two people I’m very lucky to call my friends. I’m looking forward to seeing what direction they go in next, with the band and solo work too. I wish them the best and look forward to hanging out just as mates!
Massive thank you to each and everyone of you who has supported The Lost Trades in its current form over the last five years; every promoter, every person who’s come to a gig, and everyone who’s listened and supported in one way or another to help us go from strength to strength. I honestly could never have imagined how far we have come as a band and it’s all down to your support. I can’t wait to see what’s next for The Lost Trades, time for chapter two!
November will be my last run of shows with the band – so get your tickets fast!
So much love,
Tam x
Statement from Jamie & Phil
From day one of The Lost Trades we made it clear to each other that our friendship was more important than anything else. We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to Tamsin for being such a wonderful friend for well beyond the 5 years that we have been bandmates.
Her decision to concentrate on things outside music might surprise some of you and naturally it saddens us to think we won’t be making music with her anymore. But we have seen first-hand the toll that being a touring musician has taken on her, and at the same time we’ve seen her enthusiasm for other passions grow. We want what’s best for Tamsin, and respect her decision wholeheartedly.
She has been such an important voice in The Lost Trades and at the moment it’s difficult for us to see what the future holds. We know that we would like to continue making music together under The Lost Trades banner, and will be taking some time to assess our options before we decide what form chapter 2 will take. In the meantime, we will be continuing to make the most of spending time on our respective solo projects.
Thank you for your support, and we will of course keep you informed in due course.
Jamie & Phil
